The size, slope and geographical location of the land, the type of crop and how closely it’s planted, also the number of obstacles on the land – like trees, electricity pylons or sheds.
As a general rule of thumb, if you farm more than 100 hectares it’s worth buying a drone, less than 100 hectares it’s worth renting. But there are many other factors to take into account.
Ideally, there should be an absence of rain and low humidity. Wind speed should be less than 10kph.
Basically, all crops. including wheat, barley, corn, summer crops and shrubs under 2 metres in height. Tightly planted crops, or trees over two metres can be sprayed, but coverage can be slightly less comprehensive – for example, nearer the ground.

Because a tractor cannot spread a small amount of pesticide per hectare unless the solution is made up with a large volume of water. But a drone can spread, say, 10 litres of solution per hectare accurately, evenly and effectively.
